Murat Ucer - Murat Ucer is an economist with 15 years expertise in macroeconomic and financial analysis particularly in emerging markets. Murat is also currently an independent consultant with EuroSource a leading adviser of financial institutions worldwide. He is also a Faculty at university in Turkey. He is also a frequent lecturer at the World Bank Institute.

Murat has held senior advisor positions in the Treasury and in the Central Bank in Turkey. Previously, he worked in the International Monetary Fund for six years, contributing to financial programming and fiscal and budget analysis in a number of countries in Europe and Africa. He was also Senior Economist at Credit Suisse providing the bank with research and sovereign risk analysis for emerging markets. Murat also worked at the prestigious Institute of International Finance (Washington, DC) covering a number of developing countries.

Murat holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Boston College. His publications include articles in academic journals and monographs on current economic issues. He has written on the effects of macroeconomic stability on growth, savings and investment, exchange market reform, inflation and fiscal deficits, fiscal imbalances, capital inflows and the real exchange rate, contagion and macro-economic policy, etc. He has recently completed a monograph on the Turkish financial crisis of 2000-01.
